Industrial Photography and...
…the Challenge of Registering Mining Operations in Brazil
Photographer specialized in mining companies. It’s a great honor for me to say this today. It is the result of a lot of hard work to know that I am one of the few photographers in Brazil specializing in industry—and there are few of us—to have worked with major mining companies and their vast areas and structures, whether for the mining companies themselves or for clients specialized in mining equipment and services.
Industrial photography is, indeed, a real test of endurance. I learned this by exploring the diverse terrain across Brazil. Working on mining photography in Minas Gerais, Goiás, Mato Grosso, and Amazonas, I’ve been to environments ranging from mountainous to near-desert climates and even the Amazon Rainforest, documenting different mining companies with their various types of processes.
Specialist in Machinery and Process Photography
In my work, there are moments of intense adrenaline. Walking over rocks amid large moving machines or preparations for rock blasting requires a great deal of attention and ensures that both I and my equipment are protected.
More than just capturing the movement, photographing heavy machinery and processing operations requires technical skill as well as specific training and documentation to enter these highly controlled environments and to safely capture the scale of the operation.
It is impossible to photograph or film in these environments without using top-quality equipment due to the risk of wear and tear, and with backup equipment for unforeseen circumstances. Always insured, too.

Photography of Mining Equipment and Geotechnical Engineering
At the invitation of Brazilian and international companies in the sector, I had the opportunity to photograph specialized geotechnical equipment and services. I documented everything from rock blasting and ore processing to the use of dam monitoring systems, as well as Latin America’s leading geotechnical laboratory.
This type of photography for specialized services requires a keen eye for the technical details that make a difference to the client.
The result is spectacular, whether due to the locations, the colors, or the variation in the sky—from clear blue to a gloomy overcast. In one of the photos, if you look closely, you’ll be able to spot the crescent moon resembling the Turkish flag against a blue background.
I am very grateful to the companies for the invitation and for their trust in my industrial photography work.
